VitalPAC is an award-winning healthcare app which enables doctors and nurses to record clinical data on smartphones at the bedside. VitalPAC analyses the data instantly and automatically summons timely and appropriate input from specialists if a patient’s condition deteriorates. It ensures that patients are properly assessed and monitored throughout their stay in hospital, enables complications to be avoided, and improves outcomes.
myVitalPAC would extend the existing system’s capabilities by allowing patients, and their carers and relatives, to keep an eye on their condition. Operating on the 3G network, the app would allow individuals to view observation charts and blood results, as soon as they become available. The system would include clear rules and authorisation processes for access to, and sharing of, such fundamental patient data.
myVitalPAC would be a revolutionary app, making healthcare utterly transparent. Patients would be able to monitor their own progress while relatives and friends could track the health of their loved ones.

It's been a fantastic boon to improve nursing and medical vigilance for sick patients.
If VitalPAC is a commercial product surely the developer should be funding this app themselves?
The patient should be able to record their own vital signs and request repeat or changed prescriptions from their GP. So many meds are wasted because the patient doesn't actually need them. This will pay for the app development a hundred-fold

Thanks for your comment. We've entered the competition purely with a view to more widely showcasing the product.
