Continence promotion advice - many patients suffer embarrassment and only come forward for help when incontinence is severe and with an expectation of a supply of products. Continence budgets are continually overspent. Early basic advice on self management and how to seek support could reduce the number of people presenting in later life with intractable incontinence.
Ideas for a new health app
An Information Prescription app would enable and support greater use of the existing functionality on NHS Choices to produce Information Prescriptions. The Information Prescription Service (IPS) allows users, both professional and public, to create information prescriptions (IPs) for long-term health needs. Information Prescriptions are a quick and easy way to provide trusted, reliable information about a wide range ...more »
My idea/favourite app is...Triage App - an application that does all the screening activities required to successfully signpost patients to the care provider and level required
Learning Disability Hospital Passport App that will capture essential information about the person with a learning disability, they could update the app with their essential information and then list could be shown to healthcare staff to better meet their needs. Good Birth App. Providing information and advice for childbearing women. Top tips for having a good birth. This app is being developed by midwives at Coventry University and extends our mobile learning portfolio to include service users, patients and childbearing women.
People who've attended hospital could score their hospital food out of ten and could post pictures and comments on the food. Some hospitals have made great improvements to their meals without increasing their budgets and it would introduce some healthy competition, hopefully resulting in better, tasty, nutritious and local food across the NHS
We are a pilot site for the new NHS dental contract. We think that an app related to the care pathways would be a good idea. When a patient comes for a check-up they are given scores depending on the dentist's findings of red, amber or green. Each score comes with different pieces of advice and recommendations both for the dentist and patient. There could be an app where the patient can enter their scores from the ...more »

The app "I'm ok" alerts people when your elderly relative may have fallen down the stairs and broken a hip. The app on your relative's cellphone periodically prompts your relative, lovingly and entertainingly with the time, weather, news, emails, holidays and relatives' birthdays, and even horoscope, to please press a button, signaling "I'm ok", possibly at times when medications or exercises must be taken, in which case ...more »
Our idea is a 'Sleep Safe' App. This App would be a game where new parents, grandparents and other carers of infants up to 12 months could have a picture of a high risk infants room and be asked to identify the risks - when they tapped the risk factors - a bubble would appear to let them know why this is a risk and what they can do to reduce the risk. They would also have a tab/link that would take them to all the risk ...more »
My idea for an app is to provide detailed hospital site maps to assist journey planning. The app would be available on mobile devices or NHS Choices and would include building entrances, wheel chair access, car parks, smoking area, seating and any other facilities that might be useful for visitors and patients, for all hospitals and large health facilities. The app would enable users to plan their journey from bus stops, ...more »
