NHS South Central SHA has recently produced two learning modules in the form of apps for mobile phones. Aimed primarily at nurses and midwives, one provides refresher learning on Adult Drug Calculations, the other on the Compatibility of Injectable Medicines. In instances when hospitals and other health organisations want to post shortened URLs - for example on Twitter where there's limited space - it would be great to be able to use a URL shortener (like bit.ly) that included the NHS - or DH - brand. This way, our links would still have the trustworthiness of the brand, even when they're truncated.

An application that recreates the NHS direct symptom checker on a mobile phone. The app will ask the user a series of questions and recommend future course of action. If the action requires a emergency room visit then it alerts the emergency room or if it requires GP visit then sets up an appointment with the GP clinic. Additionally records the symptoms checked so that this can be shared with the doctor.
