Mobile app for patient observations - safety and health benefits

This app is intended for use on inpatient psychiatric units where patients are ambulatory but their movements and whereabouts on the ward - and type of behaviour/activities engaged in - needs to be monitored (this is currently done on paper with all of the associated issues of that). Ideas for a new health app

What research is going on at my GP that I can be involved with?

My idea is for a simple straightforward app that would show what medical research pertinent to me was going on at my GP or at local walk-in centres. Alternatively, this could show me open recruiting studies that are going on at local hospitals. As an example I might have a vested interest in Alzheimers research and want to contribute to the wealth of research knowledge in order to effect better treatments. If confidentiality... more »

Patients Like Me

My favourite app is available at http://www.patientslikeme.com/. This allows people to monitor their mood, weight, medication, quality of life, symptoms and side-effects etc. There are forums for mutual support for various conditions. Anonymised data is available to researchers and the information so garnered has already helped in the treatment of several conditions. It is possible to print out graphs etc to take to consultations.... more »
