A bar-code scanner which would display relevant dietary information for the user. For example someone with type 1 diabetes could use the scanner to accurately determine the carbohydrate content of something and the amount of insulin they would require. A diet app to help those on special diets or weight loss programmes. You programme in your height and weight and a diet requirement, perhaps for weight loss or a food stuff to be eliminate. More standardised nutritional info needed

My idea for an application to tackle obesity and improve public education of a healthy diet is not novel but I feel the government / food industry could assist greatly in this area.
